1) Forced "Dark mode for all" sucks (exports are dark).
Suggestion: Instead of forcing all users to it, use the current browser mode. If browser uses light mode then use light mode in extension also.
2) Export naming is bad. Contains just export date: /chatgpt-log-2025-09-09.html If you export dozens of chats then how to remember which is what. You need to manually rename them because of this.
Suggestion: ChatGPT has named all chats. Use that chat name as part of the exported file name.
E.g. "export chatGPT chat to local disk.html" or "export-chatGPT-chat-to-local-disk.html"
3) Export loses all formatting of the original questions in chat. If question contains chapters, formatting, empty lines, bullet lists etc they are lost and question is one huge unreadable junk chapter of text.
Suggestion: Keep the original formatting as much as possible.
After fixing these I'm happy to try again and give 5 stars. - Rated 2 out of 5by Artem S. Tashkinov, 2 months agoYou said "simply export" and instead the app 1) changes/drops formatting 2) changes/drops font faces 3) changes appearance 4) adds paragraphs.
I want ***the exact same HTML that I see***. I don't want fancy transformations. I could do them myself. Please drop it and offer actual simple export.Developer response
