- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14789689, a year agoI was so very disappointed that I couldn't turn my favorite web based email program, which doesnt offer a desktop app, into a web app the way you can in MS Edge. After installing a couple of necessary support pieces .. this works like a CHARM! My Web based email now works as well as any desktop application.
- Rated 5 out of 5by DK, a year agoIncredible. Shame on firefox for removing this feature. It sucks to have to run it as another service, but if it's the only way for this to work, then I'll continue using it. BIG THANK YOU to the developer. You're doing amazing work.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18562428, a year agoHasn't worked in a long time. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, completely resetting, still constant issues that makes it not worth it. I still don't understand why this is even needed. All I want is the exact same functionality that used to exist and doesn't no reasons like reasons. All I want is the Google Messages icon pinned to my taskbar so I can text from my computer without finding the tab it's on. This should not be that difficult.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Daniele, a year agoI installed the PWA but even if I install the deb package (OS Ubuntu 24.04 Firefox flatpak version) I cannot select the runtime installation

posted a year agoFlatpak is not supported because it doesn't provide the necessary APIs yet. You can read more details here: https://pwasforfirefox.filips.si/help/faq/#why-doesnt-the-extension-find-the-native-connector-on-linux
You will need to use normal Firefox (from Mozilla website or their DEB repository) instead. - Rated 5 out of 5by slucas, a year ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Glen, a year agoI do not understand why Mozilla stopped development on PWAs. This extension works really well once set up, and fills in this feature gap.

posted a year agoWell, that shouldn't happen. It seems to work fine with all recent Firefox versions, including 127.0.2.- Rated 1 out of 5by A. TV, a year agoI would steer clear of this extension. It totally screwed my entire system. It took me hours to get it back to normal.

posted a year agoThat doesn't really make sense. If you have problems, please create an issue on GitHub. - Rated 2 out of 5by MysticSoft, a year agoi have both extension and firefoxpwa installed but it says unexpected error occured, does e being user of windows 7 play factor in that?
Developer response
posted a year agoPlease check troubleshooting tasks (https://pwasforfirefox.filips.si/help/troubleshooting/) to obtain the extension and native logs and create an issue on GitHub. Also, Windows 7 is no longer supported, so you might experience issues because of that. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18439079, a year ago

posted a year agoHave you linked the manifest as described in the installation instructions? Also, please create a discussion on GitHub: https://github.com/filips123/PWAsForFirefox/discussions - Rated 4 out of 5by Jake Hall, a year agoIt's a little finicky out of the box on Zorin OS, which defaults to flatpak Firefox. But I found I could switch to the snap version and have success installing the additional components necessary. I've also noticed I often need to launch PWAs twice, the first time they close immediately and the second launch they perform fine. I like being able to control whether the PWA uses it's own or a shared profile. I've found the shared profile useful for using Office365 apps like Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams which I need for work, but isolated profiles are great most of the time.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Ronaldo, a year agoNo funciona. Seguí todo paso a paso cuidadosamente y se queda en el paso 2. Hasta reinicie el computador y no funciona. La extensión solo se limita a decir "An unexpected error occurred". Lastima por que se veìa prometedora la extension. Tengo Ubuntu 23.

posted a year agoThere are sometimes problems with Firefox version on Ubuntu. Please check the documentation for possible solution: https://pwasforfirefox.filips.si/help/faq/#why-doesnt-the-extension-find-the-native-connector-on-linux
If that doesn't fix the issue, please create an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/filips123/PWAsForFirefox/issues
