Privacy policy for Detrigger
Detrigger — Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 26, 2025
This privacy policy applies to the Detrigger browser extension (“the extension”).
Overview
Detrigger is designed to rewrite headlines into calmer, neutral language locally in your browser. We keep the policy intentionally simple:
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not track you.
- We do not profile you.
If this changes, this document will be updated.
Data Collection
- Personal Data: We do not collect any personal information (such as your name, email, or browsing history).
- Browsing Activity: The extension processes visible text on web pages locally to detect and rewrite headlines. This content is not transmitted to our servers.
- Settings: Minimal extension settings (like enabled/disabled state) may be stored in your browser’s local storage. These remain on your device.
Network Requests
The extension may fetch small, static configuration files (e.g., lists of replacement text) from a server. These requests are standard HTTPS GET requests.
- No identifiers, cookies, or tokens are added.
- Requests are not linked back to individual users.
- Standard web hosting logs may exist at the infrastructure level.
Permissions
The extension requires access to page text in order to perform rewrites. It does not access form fields, passwords, or private messages.
Security
- All configuration files are served over HTTPS.
- No personal or behavioral data is sent to our servers.
Children’s Privacy
Detrigger is not directed toward children under 13. The extension collects no personal data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this document.
